Location information

The Local Council of Women’s heritage building in south end Halifax is also known as the George Wright House.

The building is at the corner of Young Ave and Inglis St, near several transit routes (4, 10, 29) and does not have a dedicated parking lot. There is usually ample street parking in the area, and there are Pay & Display parking spaces nearby in the Saint Mary’s University arena parking lot on Inglis St.

Use the side entrance of the Council building with the wheelchair ramp to enter the double parlour and sunroom. The hallways are wide enough to navigate with a mobility device, and there is an accessible gender-neutral bathroom on the main floor.
