Benefits

Volunteers will recieve a free conference ticket. By attending in person, you’ll get to connect with social workers in your region, which we hope will spark new collaborative relationships.

Attending the conference is eligible towards member requirements for formal professional development. Time volunteering before and after the conference is also eligible as an informal professional development activity.

Role

Your tasks as a volunteer may include greeting and signing-in attendees at the start of each day, answering questions, and some light set-up and tidying (e.g. tables and chairs, writing materials, refreshments).

Your effort will help the conference run smoothly, and will support other social workers in completing professional development that enables safer social work practice.

Eligibility

You must be able to attend both days in-person at one of the regional conference locations (Sydney, Pictou County, Yarmouth area, Annapolis Valley, or HRM). All members of the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers, including student, retired and associate members, are welcome to complete a volunteer application.
